Play any instrument or speak any language, which do you choose?
Question submitted by cruftbox.vox.com.
Being a musician, I'd have to go with play any instrument.
I already play a ton of them, but to be an expert at any instrument I choose? The possibilities are endless for a musician to get work if he's that varied in what he can play.
What's one thing that you hope to do or accomplish before the end of this year?
This one is simple.
Get out of the Army.
What's the one CD that will totally remind you of the Summer of 2006?
This is the one record that I listen to ALL THE TIME nowadays. I know every song by heart, and a lot of recent memories have happened while this record was playing. So yes, I'd say that this is the album that I'll associate with the summer of 2006.
I stayed at Michelle's until about 1, and then we decided to head out to Northgate and see what kind of trouble we could get into in an hour. No trouble, but I did have time to slip into O'Bannon's and have a few Irish Car Bombs.
I am so very tired. Two straight nights of Irish Car Bombs = not a happy Jeremy. As soon as Brit gets here to unlock the apartment, I'm going straight to the bed, putting on an old Pride Fighting Championship show, and passing out, dead to the world until tomorrow morning.
Tonight is being spent at Michelle's townhome. There's talk of some drinking games coming down the pipe later on tonight, and I'm holding out hopes for a nice thin-crust pizza order from Domino's. I'll probably stay sober and let everyone else have the good time; someone has to drive, right?
Right now, though, we're watching Me, Myself and Irene, and I totally forgot how funny it is. It's been a long time since I've seen Jim Carrey in a movie that's actually halfway decent, so it's nice to be able to see him in his element.
I have had SUCH a great time this weekend. To top it off, I found out tonight that my other sister Brandy is coming up tomorrow afternoon, so I'll get to see HER as well. I totally needed this weekend, especially since we've got memorial services coming up Monday and Tuesday and I'll have a lot to do for those. Steve has had a great time as well, and he's even mentioned that he might look into moving here once the Army lets him go. I must admit that College Station is a great town with great food, but it doesn't hold a candle to the allure of Colorado Springs for me. I simply cannot wait to get up there, and January cannot come soon enough.
On a side note, I love Vox. I'm definitely sticking with it for my personal blog, but I am getting ready to move the tech blog to a domain name. I'm going to keep using Wordpress, but I need more customization options than I'm afforded with Wordpress.com. I'll announce the move here whenever I've got it set up. I will say that I've already done the theme, and it is hotness, and I can't wait to show it to the world.
Last night was an absolute blast. A bunch of us ended up heading down to Northgate here in College Station, and I drank a lot of Irish Car Bombs. I'd like to state, for the record, that Irish Car Bombs are not the best choice of drinks for when you'd like to drink a lot of something. Tasty, but oh so effective. Regardless of my state of mind, good times were had by all and we met a lot of strangers who instantly took a liking to us.
That's me and my sister in the picture below, by the way.
I'm going to take my Canon apart here in a few hours and see if I can fix it myself. I hope it's an easy repair, because I really miss my camera and I don't want to ship it down to Houston Camera Repair to have it fixed. We're about to head out the door and go to Layne's and get some chicken tenders, of which they have the best in the entire world. And from what Michelle tells me, we might be on the verge of cracking the secret sauce recipe code, which would make me the happiest Jeremy in the entire world. At least for a day.
I'm back in College Station this weekend, and this time around, I brought a friend. Steve (Landrum) and I decided to make a short road trip for the weekend and come here to hang out with my sister and her friends. We've only been here for a few hours, and we're already having a blast.
I think I'm going to try and do a repair job on my Canon Digital Rebel XT tomorrow. I think the repair will be an easy one, as I suspect that it's just a cable that came off a switch on the inside. Hopefully this is the case, because it's been three months since my camera has been operational, and I miss it. My Flickr album is dying from neglect, I tell you.
I've got a lot to catch up on in terms of email and stuff, so please excuse my lack of posting. I'll write more this weekend.
What's the strongest association you have between a scent and a memory?
This one is just about the easiest question you could ask me.
The scent is Cool Water for Women, and the reason is my ex. It was her signature scent; she has worn nothing else since I have known her, and I will forever associate that smell with her scent and the amazing times we had and the memories we shared. My association with that smell was so strong, in fact, that anytime I smell another woman wearing it, I get conflicting feelings and start missing her. My ex, not the girl wearing it.
I miss that smell.
What was your most memorable or favorite school field trip?
Being in close proximity to Houston and fascinated with space travel from an early age, I would say that the most memorable field trips of my youth were probably to the Johnson Space Center. I loved pulling into the long driveway to the Center and seeing that massive Saturn V rocket, a tribute to our earliest days in the space race, laying out front. I always wanted to be an astronaut, and those trips to JSC were as close as I ever came.

Has the main Vox page been down for anyone else over the past two days? It went down for me about six o'clock last night and hasn't fixed as of this morning. It gives me the above error whenever I type in www.vox.com OR click on the Vox logo from any of the pages within the site.
